Leiko and her nanny, Doris.

The father of Leiko (an important senator from the Ageronian Empire) sent her to the far north of Kaarinia to protect her (get rid of her) from the impending world war. And Doris, the nanny who took care of her since she was a child, went with her so she would not be alone.

Doris is like the mother who never had Leiko.
